For all of its monochromatic thighquakes and assflash, the video for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" is not a full-on woodsource; Beyoncé has never truly reeked of sex, and even if she did, that theoretical aura evaporated immediately after Jay-Z locked her down. (Nobody is gonna fuck with that.) Instead, the vid is a cavalcade of old-fashioned womanly hotness, the way burlesque is supposed to be: untouchability wiggling arm-in-arm with charm; a work-ethic proudly on display; choreography that expresses the performer's full buy-in; and, in this case, film editing that emphasizes technical cleverness as much as flesh. If it were any cuter, I'd totally hate it.
