Here's my review of the Dismemberment Plan show on Wednesday. For those of you with no knowledge of the Virginia 'burbs, the last sentence of the review is a play on words. The "Mixing Bowl" is a massive highway interchange near Springfield, Va., just south of Arlington. It's going through a decade-long reconstruction, on a massive scale, because it couldn't efficiently handle the extra traffic that Northern Virginia is seeing these days. When I first moved here in the mid-1990s, I used to drive through it every day at about 3:30 p.m. when the early Pentagon traffic was heading out of town. It was hell, but there's been significant progress on it since then.
